Challenges
For logistic service providers to provide an efficient service and meet their customers’ service-level agreements, it is essential that shipments arrive at the right place at the right time.

Track and trace IT system
Lyngsoe Systems offers a complete, advanced and effective shipment tracking and tracing IT system. This is used for monitoring and handling shipments through the entire logistics chain. The system is very flexible using RFID as well as barcode-based identification.

Each individual shipment has a unique ID incorporated in the address label. This ID can either be based on a barcode or a RFID transponder (smart label). A combination of the two technologies is also available. Captured information is distributed via Internet-based applications and WAP-enabled appliances. It becomes thus possible for the users to receive information at any location.

Internet-based user interface
The user interface is the IT-application that presents in real time a constant overview of the parcel track & trace information.

The shipment includes a generic Web-based user interface. The data is made available to the user interface through the Central RFID Server. Any user - with the right authorization and a standard browser - will be able to view the data from any location. This applies for instance to customers, carrier offices, transport units, the individual delivery units/staff and recipients.

Reliable supply chain control
RFID technology and smart labels enable fast and reliable supply chain control, consignment follow-up, automatic follow-up on incoming and outgoing parcels as well as a flexible distribution of mixed pallets and small quantities.

Identity to individual items
The RFID smart label gives a product an identity, a memory and an ability to communicate interactively. It is ready to tell you the life story of the product on demand and provides reliable proof of origin.

Advanced recognition
The use of RFID transponders on parcels introduces new, advanced ways of handling parcels in the sorting process. At the infeed stations a very high quantity of parcels can be recognized in the sorting plant.

Key benefi ts of using RFID smart labels:

  • The product can carry information
  • Possibility of modifying the information later
  • No line of sight required for the reading
  • Many labels can be read at the same time
