Business Controller

Main Purpose of the Role
As a Business Controller at Körber Supply Chain, you will be responsible for delivering financial and economic insights to support both strategic and tactical decision-making. Your contributions will be pivotal in guiding the organization’s financial direction, ensuring robust planning, and driving accountability across departments.

Key objectives include:

  • Providing strategic financial support to inform decisions with long-term value creation in mind.
  • Acting as a business partner by analyzing financial data, reporting key findings, and advising senior management on significant financial matters.
  • Leading and supporting Körber's financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Conducting financial analysis and variance tracking, offering insights into deviations from targets and supporting continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
You will play a central role in driving financial clarity and operational efficiency across Körber Supply Chain. You will lead all budgeting and forecasting activities, ensuring that financial plans are accurate, forward-looking, and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. 
You will also prepare and distribute cash flow reports, offering insights into liquidity trends, financial risks, and opportunities for digital enhancement.


A crucial aspect of your role will be to establish and implement controls that minimize the risk of financial errors, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout the reporting cycle. You will act as a business partner for the Customer Services team, continuously evaluating the performance of service sales and operational effectiveness to drive improvements. 
Likewise, you will collaborate closely with the R&D department to track project progress against budget, monitor expenses, manage capitalization, and oversee utilization rates.

You will also coordinate big data activities by guiding and supervising the student worker assigned to support data initiatives. Conducting thorough variance analyses in cooperation with the FP&A team will be a key responsibility—helping interpret deviations between actual results and budget or forecast expectations and translating those findings into actionable insights for management. 

Furthermore, you will support month-end closing processes by uploading financial data into group systems such as Lucanet and SAP GR, identifying and correcting discrepancies, and preparing informative commentary on financial outcomes.
